A Longshoreman Held to Await the Inquest on His Wife's Body.
Alexander Peoples, a longshoreman, was arraigned before Coroner Rooney, of Brooklyn, this morning, and held to await the result of the Coroner's inquest.
Peoples's wife died in the Brooklyn Hospital, and a post-mortem examination showed that her death was due to peritonitis.
Before her death, Mrs. Peoples said that her husband had given her a terrible beating, and the inquest is to determine whether her death was caused by his blows.
