The caucus of "republican" members of the Legislature met last night in the Assembly. Mr. Oliver, the President of the Senate, in the Chair, and Mr. Gosman of the Assembly from Tompkins, Secretary.

Resolutions were adopted recommending a Convention at Herkimer, on the 8th Sept. to nominate a Governor and Lieut. Governor.

Also approving of the course of the general and state administrations.

Also, that the harmony of the republican party would be promoted by placing Jackson before the people as a candidate for the Presidency.

The course of the President in striking from the navy roll those who were concerned in the duel in Philadelphia, was approved.
