A great crusade for the revival of temperance work in Ireland was inaugurated at the custom house, Dublin, in the presence of a vast and enthusiastic audience. The Rev. Father Hays of Nottingham opened the proceedings with a vigorous and eloquent oration. The societies taking part included the Irish Association for the Prevention of Intemperance, the Band of Hope Union, the Church of Ireland Temperance Association, the Father Matthew Society, and League of the Cross, the Dublin Workers' T. A. Association, and others. Representatives were present from all parts of Ireland, and the arrangements were carried out by an influential committee.
