Randolph County.—At the request of a citizen
of Randolph and in justice to the people of that
county, we publish the following statement showing
the number of men she has furnished for the
service and her representation in some of the important
battles in Virginia

Companies from the County of Randolph in the
late fight: 1 company in the 3d regiment; 1 company
in the 5th regiment; 3 companies in the 22d
regiment; 1 company in the 38th regiment; 2 companies
in the 46th regiment; 1 company in the 52d
regiment; 35 men in the 54th regiment; 30 men
in the 6th regiment; 20 men in the 21st regiment.
The full amount of men furnished for the Confederate
army is near 1,500 who are in active service—
about 200 in the State Salt Works, and about 40
procuring saltpetre. There are not more than 100
deserters in said County.

Randolph had four companies in the battle of
Seven Pines and six in the battles before Richmond.
In fact, she has been represented on almost every
battle-field in Virginia since the commencement of
the war. All the people of Randolph want is simple
justice.—Greensborough Patriot.
