Full Text

A Banffshire (Scotland) paper records a curious fact bearing on the habits of the weasel. A workman was ploughing a field on the Home Farm of Nethermair, and he turned up a weasel's nest with the animal in it. The nest was of comfortable build and carefully lined with feathers. In it was stowed away a field mouse, a blackbird, and twenty-five small birds. The head of the blackbird was severed from its body, but all the other birds were entire. The feathers that lined the nest seem to have been plucked from previously destroyed birds.
