URBANA, Ill., -- (INS) -- The University of Illinois Interfraternity council has taken under advisement resolutions submitted two fraternities for elimination of what they call segregation in Greek letter societies.
Campus representatives of Alpha Phi Alpha and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternities-presented the resolutions Monday. Council spokesman later announced that action on the resolutions had been postponed indefinitely.
The resolutions ask that not later than Sept. 1, 1957, fraternity and sorority "rush" programs be conducted without segregation and that the university provide rushees with information concerning racial ethnic and religious expulsion policies of the groups on campus.
