Letters from Brest advise, that the People belonging to the Marine are exercised regularly twice a Week, in that Road. There are nine Vessels provided for this Purpose, each of which has eight Galley Slaves and two Sailors on Board to work her. There is a commanding Officer to conduct the Van Guard of this little Fleet, another for the Center, and another for the Rear Guard; and this Exercise is to be continued during the Summer Season, nothing being thought better to initiate young People in Maritime Affairs.
