Volunteer Firemen Petition For Awards
Two volunteer firemen of Jeffersonville, Fayette county, have asked the Ohio supreme court the question of compensation rates for their kind.
Injured in responding to an alarm in July, 1931, Chief Leon Smith, a baker was granted 15 cents a week by the State Industrial commission, and Lorin Allen was awarded eight cents a week.
Smith earned $40 as a baker and Allen received $25 as a restaurant employee. They contend that their regular salaries should have been considered in the awards.
