Tanner Chapel AME
Founders' Week was a great success at Tanner Chapel. Tuesday February 8, Lucy Phillips C.M.E. Church was well represented with Rev. Harper delivering a splendid sermon, and his choir rendering the music for the evening.
Wednesday, Shiloh Baptist Church and Wesley Methodist Church had charge. Rev. N. L. Huff preached a wonderful sermon; Rev. W. H. Steven was in charge of the devotionals.
Thursday, the First Institutional Baptist Church was in charge with Rev. Kendrick delivering an uplifting sermon, and his choir rendering beautiful music.
Friday night closed our Founders' Day Program, with an elaborate banquet given in the beautifully decorated church reception hall. Everyone who attended, was elaborate in their praises. The participants on the program, performed wonderfully.
Services Sunday were highly inspirational. Pastor Hayes preached on "The Value of the Kingdom".
The youth were in charge of the music and rendered a splendid service. The Jewel Choir also gave a selection. Our guest soloist was Mrs. Regina Blackburn.
