We hear that the Heirs of Thomas Greene, Esq; lately deceased, in Compliance with a Design he had often mentioned in his Time of Health, and repeated on his Death Bed, have generously offered the Sum of Five Hundred Pounds Sterling. to the Minister, Wardens and Vestry of Trinity Church in this Town, to be by them managed and directed, to be a Fund together with such Addition as could be obtained, for the perpetual Maintenance of an Assistant Minister to the Episcopal Churches in and about Boston, especially to Trinity Church (to which the deceased and his Heirs more particularly belong) when they may be vacant by the Death, Sickness, or necessary Absence of their said stated Ministers, until such Minister be able to perform the Duty, or if dead, a reasonable Time to supply his Room: And accordingly said Church have already made a considerable Subscription and expect in a short Time to compleat an equal Sum to that Donation, the Interest of the whole to be applied to the said Use under the aforesaid Direction-- So that by the worthy Design of the aforementioned deceased, with the Concurrence of the generous Heirs and Subscribers; the Episcopal Churches in these Parts; will soon have the Benefit of a supply in Time of Need, that has hitherto been greatly wanted.
