Resolutions of the Republican State Convention.

Mr. Partridge, from the Committee on resolutions reported the following:

Resolved, That this convention re-affirms the principles embodied in the resolutions adopted by the Republican State Convention, held at Madison on the 13th day of July, 1854; and, also, the principles promugated by the resolutions of the Republican National Convention, held at Philadelphia on the 17th day of June, 1856; and that in the maintenance of these principles is to be found a sure guaranty for the preservation of the liberties of the people the reserved rights of the States, and the integrity of the Federal Union.

Resolved, That the repeated and continued aggressions of the Slave Power upon the rights of free labor and the true principles of the Constitution, as exhibited in the atrocious doctrines of the Dred Scott decision--in the arrogant demand for the re-opening of the African Slave Trade--and in the clamor for the enactment, by Congress, of a Slave Code for the Territories, force upon us, in common with the people of the Free States, the necessity of renewed, united, and unremitting efforts in behalf of Freedom, Free Labor, and Free Soil,

Resolved, That the corruption and extravagance of the present National Administration, as evinced in the liberty of members of Congress to vote for the Lecompton Constitution, and to betray the people, as shown in the contracts for the army and navy, and in the Willett's Point and Fort Snelling fraud; and as proven by a bankrupt treasury, demand at the hands of the people a change of rulers; and the reform of the abuses which pro-slavery misrule has inflicted upon the people.

Resolved, That the reckless disregard of the rights of naturalized citizens by the administration of James Buchanan, as exhibited in the letter of Gen. Cass to Mr. LeClere, calls for our unqualified reprobation; and that we claim for every citizen, whether native or adopted, from whom we exact allegiance protection while abroad

Resolved, That the peculiar feature now contained in the Constitutions of Massachusetts and South Carolina, which requires, before the right of suffrage can be exercised by the foreign born, a residence of two years after naturalization-- meets our united condemnation.

Resolved, That the intolerant and proscriptive spirit of sham Democracy, which in some of the so called Democratic, States, makes property instead of manhood, the basis of suffrage, and which in the leading Democratic State of South Carolina excludes every man who is not "the owner of ten negroes," from the right of holding office, is a reproach to the age in which we live; and is opposed alike to the theory of our government the spirit of our institutions, and the right of man.

Resolved, That we cordially approve of and endorse the course of our Senators and Representatives in Congress, in maintaining the principles of the Republican Party, and generally promoting such measures as have for their objects the advancement of human rights and in opposing the extravagance and profligacy of the Democratic Administrations of the Federal Government.
