SWAILS' ASSAILANT ARRESTED

Thomas Reinhart, the colored man who shot William Swails, of No. 395 Third street in the arm Tuesday night, surrendered himself to the police this morning. He told Justice Potts that he went to Swails' house looking for Charles Payne, who he wanted to go out and shovel snow with him. Swails, he asserts, ordered him out of the house and then attacked him with a knife, cutting his clothes and stabbing him in the chest. He shot in self defense, he says. Justice Potts committed him and held Swails as a witness.
