LONDON, Sept. 29.

The Court of Naples sent several Virtuosi, some Time ago, to examine the present State of Mount Vesuvius ; and those Gentlemen having examin'd the different Openings in the Mount, reported, that no Smoke issues now from those that were made in the late Eruption ; but that there were several new ones, which send forth thick Exhalations, though not so contagious as the former ; and that by several Experiments, they found that they were not hurtful either to Animals, or to Vegetables.
