Full Text

It gives us sincere pleasure, says the Winchester Republican, to state that the Rev. A. H. H. Boyd has declined the very flattering call he lately received to the Fifth Presbyterian Church of Baltimore the pulpit of which had been made vacant by the death of the Rev. Samuel Washburn.

Mr. Boyd has resided in this community so long, and has become so endeared to its citizens without regard to sect. and, moreover, his sphere of usefulness here has been of so extended a character, that he felt it his duty, on Sunday last, to inform his congregation, who anxiously awaited his decision, of his determination to remain in their midst.

Under the auspices of Mr. Boyd, the New School Presbyterian Church has been steadily growing and prospering, not only in this town, but in the county, through parts of which his regular labors extend.
