EVERYTHING QUIET IN POLICE CIRCLES
Only One Drunk Arrested in Two Days.
Mayor Scherff's Report for the Month Lightest Since He Entered Office.
The past two days, much to the surprise of the police, have been exceptionally quiet in police circles, but one drunk having been hauled in during the past forty-eight hours.
It is usual to have the city prison full at this time of the year, but there was comparatively little drinking done yesterday or on the night preceding Thanksgiving day.
The mayor will report the lightest month's business since he stepped into office, a fact which he does not relish because his salary was raised during the present month by the city council. The occurrences reported in the police court have been exceptionally few and most of those reported have been of a trivial nature during the month
While the mayor is confident that conditions in the city have been materially bettered in the past few months, he believes that the conditions existing at present all over the country are reflected in the situation in police circles, all of which means that "things iz rite dull" but here's hoping.
"Hocky" Carroll, a quarryman, reported to the police this morning that his bicycle had been stolen from a youth to whom he loaned the wheel several months ago. He has asked the police to help him locate the property.
