Waco, Tex., Oct. 9.—The vital statistics report which is now made to the county clerk monthly has brought to light some interesting things, and one of them is that people as a rule are very slow about naming children which have been ushered into the world, and owing to this fact that the record in the statistical line is somewhat incomplete. The record is supposed to contain the name of the child's parents, the nationality, time and place born, name of child, etc., and all this information is forthcoming except the name of the child. As a rule the child has not been named, so this part of the record of necessity goes to Austin blank. Frequently the report is not made at once of births, and it would appear that sufficient time had elapsed to allow the naming process to be completed, but it does not result that way. People seem to be very slow in giving the child a name.
