MR. LETCHER IN WISCONSIN.—Hon. John Letcher, of the Tenth Legion district, has made himself hosts of friends in the far off State of Wisconsin, by opposing certain railroad land-grants to corporations in that State. The Milwaukee News says 'he is held in deservedly high repute in (that) city, and by all honest men throughout the State, for his effective services in killing the Rock River railroad grant.' The success of this scheme would have been disastrous to the prosperity of Milwaukee.—Win. Virg.
