ST. LOUIS, MARCH 10.

Unfortunate Occurrence.—We learn by the arrival of the Rocket, at this port, that the steam boat Tennessee, on her way from New Orleans to Nashville and Louisville, with a valuable cargo of merchandise and specie, and about 200 passengers, run on a snag near the Walnut Hills, and instantly went down, with the loss of the cargo and upwards of forty passengers. She had on board, it is said, $300,000—about 150,000 of which was destined for the vaults of the United States Bank at Louisville.
