The following extract of a letter has lately appeared in one or two of the Daily Prints of this city.
Extract of a letter from Kingston (Jamaica) last June, to a gentleman in this city.
"I have my fears that some act that may be deemed partial, or the imprudence of some wrong-headed people with you, (for I know there are such) may involve you in the war, which I pray God avert! You may be assured that all denominations of people under the British government, view every act of yours with a scrutinizing eye, and pretences are not wanting to catch at paragraphs, and put the worst construction on them: this tends to inflame the minds of the people credulous to believe, and ready to receive every impression unfavourable to America. Your printers and writers should be circumspect, and the government rigid in its neutrality, which only can make you flourish."
