THE FEMALE LAND LEAGUE

Sympathy of St. Louis Irishmen with the
Excommunicated Female Leaguers of
Cleveland.

ST. LOUIS, June 19.-The Parnell-Dillon
Land League of this city unanimously accepted
the following at a meeting last evening.
Whereas, The women of Ireland and the
Irish women of America have served their
country well in the struggle of our people for
their rights, and whereas, the Bishop of Cleveland
has addressed the Land Leaguers of his
diocese in language unbecoming one in his
station: and furthermore, owing to a personal
change has abused his trust so far as to hastily
excommunicate any lady of his diocese attending
a Land League meeting; therefore,
Be it Resolved, That the Parnell-Dillon Land
League of St. Louis sends to our sister Leaguers
of Cleveland every encouragement in their
struggle against a prejudiced clergy as well as
plundering landlords, and earnestly beseech
them to stand firmly by their country and their
God, regardless of any vulgar tirades, even
when mouthed in the robes of an abused religion.
