PETERSBURG, June 7

On Saturday last a duel was fought on Battersea plantation, between Mr. George Tucker and Mr. James Huges, both of this town. They shot each other the first fire—the former received a wound thro' the leg just below the knee, which, it is supposed, will prove very injurious; the latter was shot through the body, and it is believed he is mortally wounded.

Yesterday morning another Duel was fought near this town, between Mr. Thomas K. Harris, and Mr. James Trezvant. At the second fire the latter received a wound in the body, of which he now lies very ill, but there are flattering hopes of his recovery.

The quarrels which produced these unhappy interviews we are well assured were not of a political nature.
