OF THE TAKING OF FT. OSWEGO,

We have no further accounts, than the following letter from a military gentleman at Utica, and verbal reports by passengers in the steam boat; by which it appears that the enemy missed the object of his bold enterprize, and paid dearly for the little booty he obtained. It is understood, that our loss of men was 14 killed, and 30 or 40 wounded. The property lost or damaged, was 1 large and 3 small cannon spiked or carried off, with 40 barrels of flour and 200 of whiskey. The schr. Growler, with cannon for Sackett's Harbor was sunk by captain Woolsey to keep them from the enemy, and would be raised again.
