FOUND IN CREEK
Suspicion of Foul Play Is
Dispelled After Officers
Investigate.
Considerable excitement was raised
and visions of a new murder mystery
created when Frank Weaver reported
to Sheriff Harry Ogle that he had
found what he surmised were indications
that some woman had met
with foul play in the Locust Grove
neighborhood.
Sheriff Harry Ogle, Coroner M. L.
Purdin and Prosecutor E. S. Young
drove to the concrete bridge at the
foot of the Cannon hill on route 41
where they found a mattress, pillow,
and a woman's clothing.
They dragged nearby holes of
water to see if they could find any
body. After many inquiries, they decided
they were old things that some
nearby neighbors had thrown away,
using the creek for a dump.
