Libby people will be interested in the following item from the Bonners Ferry Herald which tells of Miss Staphana Lynch being bitten by a bear in Yellowstone park. Miss Lynch was employed in Libby a number of years, in a clerical position in the First National Bank. The Herald item reads:
Mr. and Mrs. John Lynch and daughters, the Misses Loretta and Stephana, returned Saturday from a ten days motor trip east, most of the time being spent in Yellowstone national park.
While in the park Miss Stephana had a painful experience when she was attacked by a bear. In attempting to have her picture taken with the animal she got too close to Bruin. He leaped for her, grabbed her by the right arm with his teeth, inflicting a painful wound, and then ambled away.
Miss Lynch is still wearing bandages on her arm and is unable to resume her duties as cashier and bookkeeper at the K. V. Produce company's store.
