DEMOCRATIC ASSOCIATION.—The Democrats of Union and Church Hills assembled at Springfield Hall on Monday evening last, for the purpose of organizing an association in support of Democratic principles and nominees during the ensuing political canvass. On motion, T. J. Stark was called to the chair, and E. C. Crump elected Secretary pro. tem. A committee was then appointed to nominate officers and draft rules for the government of the association. The committee was constituted of Messrs. Wells, Brown and Moore. The committee then retired, and during their absence, J. H. Parkhill addressed the meeting. The committee reported the following officers: President, John Nettles; Vice Presidents: T. J. Stark, J. Brown, W. Liggon, C. Richardson, and R. Whitlock; Secretary: E. C. Crump. They also reported the constitution and by-laws of the Democratic Association of Richmond for the government of this association and their report was unanimously adopted. A resolution was then adopted inviting J. H. Parkhill, Esq., to address the Democracy of the "Hills" at Springfield Hall Friday night week, and then the association adjourned.
