Lawsuit 133 Years Old.
In 1781 the Counts Salamone of Serravalle brought an action against the Commune of Salusola Biellese for the violation of water rights. The case has continued for 133 years, and was only settled last week by compromise. Meanwhile the Salamone estates had been sold several times, but each new proprietor kept the action going, while every successive mayor of the commune handed the defense of the town as a heritage to his successor. Each party had spent a small fortune in sustaining throughout the years their respective rights, but meanwhile the peasants of the district were deprived of their drinking water. -The Observer.
