ABOUT GIFFORD
Special to Evening Teller
CULDESAC, Idaho, Nov. 20.-On a trip to Gifford and back from Culdesac one sees some of the most thrifty and progressive farming country in the state. In the Rosetta country and Gifford also, the farmers have raised much corn and have gathered the same this year and sowed the land into wheat, which is about three inches high and as fine wheat as ever was seen.
The farms are fenced hog tight, so different from the poorly fenced Indian farms, the buildings are the finest country farm houses and barns of any in this part of the state. Many of the houses would be an ornament to a city. The country is high and rolling and the soil black, and not subject to frost, and so soon after such terrible rains, there is very little mud.
The town of Gifford has many fine residences and the business buildings are much better than the average for a new town. The town of Gifford and the whole country surrounding it shows prosperity.
