Full Text

KINGSTON, (Jamaica) Aug. 5.

An inhabitant of the state of New-Hampshire in North-America, by way of ridiculing the rage for paper money which prevails among his countrymen, observes that a scheme is on foot for introducing an emission of rope-money, to be dealt out by the inch, foot, fathom, &c. which will answer a better and more valuable purpose than paper; as a shilling will be sufficient to give a man a good whipping, if he attempts to depreciate it; and a larger quantity be sufficient to hang him, if he is detected in any treasonable practices.
