COMPLIMENT TO COL. SIDNEY SUGGS MUST GO AS DELEGATE TO GOOD ROADS CONGRESS AT DETROIT- PEOPLE AWAKENING.

Affirming that Oklahoma must be ably represented at the great good roads congress which is to be held in Detroit the last week in September, and expressing a willingness to share the expense of a state delegate the automobile club and good roads boosters of Chickasha unanimously elected Commissioner of Highways Sidney Suggs to represent the state, and tendered him a draft of $25 to help pay the expenses of the trip.

Colonel Suggs went to Anadarko on Friday night and made an address to the good roads advocates of that city and while passing through Chickasha was notified of the action of the Chickasha men.

Colonel Suggs has been invited to participate in the discussion at Detroit, where he will make an address. Secretary of Agriculture Lane. and Premier Borden of Canada will be at the congress and a representative from the state department of every state in the union. The last congress was instrumental in securing an appropriation of half a million dollars for the post roads and the present congress is going after more than double that amount. Col Suggs is anxious to be accompanied by as many Oklahoma boosters as will go,

Governor Bruce has been requested to appoint the delegates. and colonel Suggs wants to submit to the governor as many as possible, but will not ask the appointment of any man unless he expects to attend. The United States Good Roads association of which Senator Bankhead of Alabama is president is also seeking delegates to its annual convention which takes place in St Louis in the middle of November Oklahoman
