Full Text

The Executive Directory have passed several long arrêts, forbidding the people to assemble for the purpose of expressing their opinions in a collective capacity.

It is much to be feared that the liberties of Switzerland are ere this completely annihilated, by the hordes of Revolutionizers, disgorged upon them from the great store-house of robbers and assassins. It appears that the people of the country are at open hostility with those of the towns: odious party distinctions are assumed; and instead of turning their arms against the common foe, they are remorsefully engaged in destroying each other.
