The Russian brig Rurick, which a short time since arrived at Portsmouth, Eng. had been out on a voyage of discovery nearly three years. - Lieut. Kotzebue, who commanded the Rurick fell in with an Iceberg on his voyage of great magnitude, a portion of the surface being covered with earth and mould, and bearing trees and vegetable productions. Its water line was covered with a shore formed by the deposit of earthly matter, which had washed down from the higher parts of the earth covered Iceberg. A landing was made on this shore, and a part of the remains of the mammoth in a state of putrefaction. Lieut. Kotzebue brought from off the Iceberg a number of tusks and other parts of immense animals, which it is calculated had remained in a frozen state until the ice reached a more southerly latitude.
