HUERTA DEFIES ALL THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD

MEXICO CITY, Aug. 4.--That he will remain president of Mexico and that he will brook no interference in the internal affairs of the republic on the part of any nation in the world is the statement issued yesterday by President Huerta.

This statement was issued through Urrati, the minister of the interior, and is the throwing down of the gauntlet to the United States.

It was issued after a long conference with the members of the cabinet and with many prominent private citizens who have supported the president since his election.

The conference was called immediately after it had become known that President Wilson refused to recognize the Huerta government under any circumstances.
