PHILADELPHIA, JULY 24.
Extract of a letter from Norfolk, dated July 17, 6 P.M.
"Agreeably to your request of the 16th inst. I have now to inform you, that we have this moment received certain information from party of horse, which we had stationed off the Bay shore, that they had taken two officers and three privates, belonging to a boat which had come on shore from the British ships--that were fired upon by our party--I believe none were either killed or wounded--they will be immediately brought up to town."
