We Are Registered - Now Let's Vote
Citizens of Atlanta and Fulton County as well as citizens across the state. Next Wednesday, June 28, is a significant day on the calendar. That is the day when voters will go to the polls to decide on a governor, a lieutenant governor, and votes for other lesser candidates for state house. Every voter is held to account for the kind of men who are chosen to direct the affairs of our government! That is a solemn and serious responsibility resting over every voter. Citizens who are not registered are not important, insofar as a government is concerned because they do not manifest enough interest to get registered. But neither are registered voters important unless after registering they will follow through by voting. Despite the clandestine efforts of the Talmadge machine to minimize the influence of the Negro, a large number of Negroes have busied themselves and are eligible to vote next Wednesday. According to the high-, there are some 1,000 Negro voters over the state. In Fulton County, Negroes make up about 20,000 or less of the voting population. And although these figures are slightly lower than during the last gubernatorial election, they are sufficiently large enough to make an impressive showing on election day. Go to the polls. You owe it to your state and your county to help elect good men. If only all of these registered will turn out...
