Long Live The Reign Of The "Lion Of Judah"

It is indeed gratifying to note that the much talked new Ethiopian government headed by Crown Prince Asfa Wassan, son of Emperor Haile Selassie was as shortly lived as its brief heraldry.

The new regime had all the earmarks of the nationalism and socialism prevalent in neighboring Egypt and Sudan. In a modern day of student uprising and that claim of youth that the elders are too conservative, it is not altogether a surprise that a youthful sponsor like Crown Prince Asfa Wassen would wax supporters in his ill-fated movement to overthrow the reign of his father. There is similarity in physical setting when out of the line of King Solomon, Absalom, the son of David pitched battle against his father!

Making this incident the more interesting, the bearded Coptic Christian, Haile Selassie said to be a direct descendant of King Solomon, and other Biblical forebears has long been known as the Lion of Judah.

One of the oldest dynasties on earth, with a straight line of rulers still remains one of our highlights of human history.

Peace and order having been restored, it is hoped that this ancient government will be resolved and justice, lighted in olden time, and by whose flares the world and time may continue to march on.

The "Lion of Judah", the able administrator he is, is in for salutations for the quietness and unassuming manner in which he flew back home from Brazil to restore order.
