In a May 11, 1818, letter from Fryeburg, a voter corrects vote tallies published in the Eastern Argus for the congressional representative election: Samuel A. MESSRS. PRINTERS,
On Monday last was our meeting for choice of Representative to the General Court. Samuel A. Bradley, Esquire was re-elected by an increased majority. without the least exertion on the part of his supporters to bring out the voters. From the statement of the votes in this town given at the late election of Representative to Congress, as published in the Argus, which statement has not been corrected, the publick would be induced to believe, we had lost our confidence in Mr. Bradley. As it is never too late to correct misstatements, you are requested to publish the fact, to wit, instead of 55 votes, Mr. Bradley received 72. and Mr. Lincoln received 35 instead of 72, the Eastern Argus to the contrary notwithstanding.
A VOTER OF FRYEBURG.
