IOWAN CLAIMS
Personal Work By Landowners Would Add 5,000 Families to N. D. Population
Tappen, N. D., June 27.-There are 5,000 or more new settlers for North Dakota available in southern Minnesota and Iowa within the next 18 months, if the advertising campaign of the Greater North Dakota association is backed up by personal effort on the part of those who have land in North Dakota for sale. F. O. Churchill of Sigourney, Iowa, stated to local business men while spending a few days here in the interests of farm owners in Kidder county.
Mr. Churchill has owned land in North Dakota since 1907, and has never found the prospect so good during the last week of June as it is this year.
"I have been in the land business in Iowa for many years, and I never heard so much favorable comment about the opportunity North Dakota offers as I have encountered during the last few months," Mr. Churchill stated. "I intend to devote all of my time from now on to bringing buyers to North Dakota. There are hundreds of farmers in our section of Iowa who have from $1,500 to $4,000 in money and their equipment. They are all good prospects for North Dakota. I understand there are a number of men working in Minnesota and Iowa bringing these prospects to North Dakota. If a sufficient number of landowners made this effort North Dakota could add 5,000 families to its farming population within the next year or 18 months. It is certainly fortunate for North Dakota to have such a splendid crop prospect right on top of the very efficient advertising campaign carried on by the Greater North Dakota association."
