COMMITS SUICIDE IN PRISON
Woman Convict Objected to Clothes Furnished by State.

Trenton, N. J., Oct. 20.—Prison officials refused to permit Anna Riket to wear fancy clothing she brought to the prison, and she committed suicide by hanging.

The woman was serving a sentence of four to seven years for larceny, committed in Essex county. She came to the prison January 29, 1915, and had been troublesome since her incarceration.

The woman engaged in a controversy with the matron, over wearing the prison garments. Later Headkeeper Richard Hughes admonished her for abusive talk to the matron. She was found about an hour afterward dead on her cot. She had choked to death with a strip of muslin pulled tightly about her neck.
