Extract of a Letter from Edinburgh, Sept 29.

"On Tuesday last as a Party of English Gentlemen were viewing the Castle, some among them were observ'd to take more than ordinary Notice, and to write down Minutes of all they saw. Intimation of which being given to the Deputy Governor, they were order'd under Arrest 'til they gave an Account of themselves: But, in a Short Time, Mr. Archibald Steuart being applied to by the Gentlemen, waited upon the Deputy, and assur'd him that they were all personally known to him, and vouch'd for their having no other Design than to gratify their Curiosity in taking down Minutes of what they saw: Whereupon they were immediately set at Liberty. Two of the Gentlemen are Baronets, of the Names of Chester and Leicester; who, in Company with — Curzon and — Bagot, Esqrs. are making a Tour through North Britain."
