WOBURN
ST. JOHN'S BAPTIST CHURCH
Rev. Harold T. Branch, Pastor

WOBURN, Mass., June 11—Rev. Johnson was the speaker at the morning service in the absence of the supply pastor, Rev. Judge Bell who was the speaker at the evening service. Both services were well attended.

In the afternoon the Primary Department under the teachers, Mesdames Mildred Phillips, Martha Burton and Mae Pettie, held their Children's Day Exercises. The vestry was very prettily decorated with flowers and yellow and white decorations. The little tots took their program very seriously and their speeches and songs were greatly enjoyed. Potted ivy plants, Bibles and picture and Bible story books were presented to the youngsters. The Superintendent, Mr. Chester Canada presented gifts to Robert and Carolie Jordan, children of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jordan of Center st., for a perfect attendance record.

A former Woburnite, Bradford Nelson on furlough from the 92nd division was present and promised the children to return next Sunday and speak to them.

Baptist Youth Fellowship was held at 5:30 with President Roosevelt Plunkett in charge.

Mrs. Evelyn Thomas and daughter, Mrs. Virginia Crutchfield, attended the wedding of their nephew and cousin William Scott, Afro-American photographer, in Washington, D. C. last Saturday. William is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Scott of Garfield ave. this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Chester L. Canada and Mr. Sylvester Hester were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pina of Brockton, Mass., last week.
