Newspaper and portrait photographer Harold J. Woods is on the "critical" list at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, where he has been confined for several weeks.

Hospital authorities reported this morning that his condition had not improved.

Woods, who came to Dayton more than a year ago from Columbus, was formerly connected with the United States government in Washington, D. C. He began his career as a newspaper photographer on the Columbus Star. He is a native of Ohio's Capital City.

Before becoming a partner in the House of Portraits here, Woods was staff photographer for the Dayton Citizen. His work has appeared in leading newspapers and periodicals throughout the country.
