ASSOCIATION TO PROMOTE TOURIST TRADE FORMED

A group of businessmen met yesterday afternoon at Government House with Governor Cramer and formed the St. Thomas Tourist Association with Emile Berne as President and Adolph Gereau, Secretary. Governor Cramer was made Honorary President. An Executive Committee was set up to control the finance and direct the policy of the organization. Other Committees were for entertainment, transportation and literature.

The Association pledged to foster the tourist trade, here and made plans to show the visitors of the Cherokee a pleasant time. It is also writing to induce the New York & Puerto Rico Line to make regular excursion trips to the island. Other movements of definite benefit to the island are being initiated.
