BATAVIA, JAVA. - Capt. Gilbert Kent said that Dutch authorities had confiscated "a number of tons" of sugar and sisal (fiber) from the cargo of the 394-ton British freighter Empire Mayrover. The cargo was loaded at the Indonesian republican port of Cheribon. The unauthorized export of sugar, sisal and other products from estates controlled by the republic were forbidden by the Netherlands East Indies government in a January 29 decree, which later became a subject of notes from the United States and British governments.
