Woman's Chronicle

Among the good results following closely upon the heels of the Woman's Congress, is the federation of woman's clubs in Memphis into one grand council, that they may be brought into closer fellowship and reap all the benefits which come from interchange of experience and exchange of new and diverse ideas. The federation also hopes to inspire greater enthusiasm in behalf of worthy objects, and working together in friendly combination, will be enabled to bring larger experience and greater influences to bear than in the past, when each club has worked alone upon the line of its own interest and promotion. The federation is composed of nineteen clubs, and in this connection the Daily Commercial (Memphis) says:

"Each will stand in its own place and do its whole duty, but like the rainbow will receive its beautiful tints from the same ray.
'The women of the nineteenth century are fast gaining respect and admiration. They have proven in misfortune, that they can accomplish ends, by superior fitness and indomitable will, that are often counted difficult by men.
"With such a body of women in our midst-all in earnest and bent on the up-building of good, and the overthrow of evil, there will be long-cherished aims accomplished, that will gladden the hearts of true, good, brave men.'
