Feb. 16. A letter from Edinburgh, dated February 11th, says, "last week one of the Commissioners from the Perth and Stirling Company of Farmers, for purchasing lands in North America, returned to Glasgow, having purchased a tract of 10,000 acres, at a very trifling cost, in the province of New York, upon Choptank river, of a rich loam, and which may be all laboured when the wood is cleared; there are vast tracts unsettled, of a fine soil, and in a healthy climate. He says, that the country inhabitants are eager upon the cultivation of land."
