Snow Hill Endangered

Snow Hill, Md.: April 30.-A dangerous fire occurred here this morning at 15 minutes of one o'clock. The store, house and stock of goods belonging to A. C. Pentland, and situated near the river bridge, valued at four thousand dollars, was totally destroyed, together with a blacksmith shop owned by the same, and an adjoining dwelling-house, the property of Thos. D. Purnell. The fire originated in the back part of the store, and is regarded as the work of incendiaries, as there was no probable means of its originating otherwise. For half an hour the whole town was in imminent danger of being consumed, and only the condition of the surrounding roofs, wet by the recent rains, saved it. The insurance on the property destroyed amounts to about half the value.
