TWO GREAT AWARDS
Minnesota has two smart men, anyway.
Sinclair Lewis and Frank B. Kellogg have
both won Nobel awards, one for literary
achievement and the other for contribution to
peace.
The work of Sinclair Lewis, particularly
"Main Street" caused considerable comment in
the author's native state. Some said that it
was a good book. Others said that it misrepresented
the small community and its spirit.
Anyway, Lewis created an issue and some discussion.
The book did some good.
