A Talk with R. M. Foree.

Mr. R. M. Foree, who has been the manager of the baths and hotel at Ojo Caliente for several months, is in the city to-day on business. He reports the baths and hotel doing a good business, and as well patronized. There are now guests there from New York, Missouri, Montana, Colorado and New Mexico. Since he has been in charge not a single patient, who has come there, but has been benefited and gone away greatly improved in health. The medicinal and curative qualities of the springs are being better understood and are becoming more familiar to eastern physicians, and more and more people are being advised to use them. There are now accommodations, and comfortable ones at that, for about thirty guests. Ojo Caliente promises in the near future to be one of the most popular and beneficial health resorts in the south west.

Mr. Foree says concerning the condition of the country that there have been several fine rains in Rio Arriba county this spring that have done a great deal of good, and that the people expect to harvest good crops of cereals and fruits this season. Live stock, cattle and sheep are doing well, and the stock men also expect a prosperous season.

Mr. Foree, a Democrat, and of the old Kentucky stock at that, is nevertheless an enthusiastic advocate of statehood. and thinks with admission as a state New Mexico will advance rapidly, and will soon attain prosperity and plenty of the goods of this world.

New Mexico will be Mr. Foree's future home. He will locate at Santa Fe and practice law.
