An inconsistency appears in our last, which we wish to explain. In our Editorial department, reference is made to the retreat of the Spanish troops from our territory, but that information does not appear in the paper. We had a Philadelphia paper which gave a very full account of this circumstance but by some accident which we cannot account for, when it was wanted it could not be found.
The intelligence stated in substance, that Gen. Wilkinson had advanced upon the Spaniards, in consequence of which a convention was made between him and the Spanish commander that the latter would recross the Sabine river, and that he should not recross it, and that the two Governments should settle the boundaries. It describes the patriotism of the Citizens of Louisiana and the Mississippi Territory in handsome terms.
