The Greeks.-The spirit displayed by this gallant people, notwithstanding the uninterrupted series of reverses they have experienced, challenges our increased sympathy and admiration. We cannot yet despair of a people, so full of the enthusiasm of liberty, and who have given to the world so many proofs of heroism and fortitude. If we look back upon the history of our own struggle for independence, we will see what a nation determined to be free can endure. It is ascertained that Lord Cochrane has sailed. May not his presence revive the spirits of the desponding? May not his co-operation and discipline stimulate to new efforts, and again turn the tide of success in favor of the cross? The Liverpool Courier of the 28th June says it is certain that there are no symptoms of a general submission of the Greeks."
